Global Boiling explained

This meme comes from long-term steady commenter Alarmist.

He doesn't get around to writing very much about the long-term Climate Calamity™ deal that's gone from a scientific discussion to a massive political issue and Totalitarian control effort over the last 35 years, but Steve Sailer has a good short and sweet post up on it: NYT: "When the Novelty of Skiing in California in August Wears Off, the Terror Sinks In".

Not to criticize too harshly at all, as his attitude is heartening to me, but 2 things:

1) He seems a little late on that NOTICING of his that "Global Warming" has become "Climate Change", as he does give the right reason why. My recollection on the change of terminology is more like Global Cooling (1970s) – Global Warming – Climate Change (been that for 10-15 years, I’d guess) – The Climate Crisis (time of Peak Greta ~ 19) – Global Boiling (couple of weeks ago).

2) I don't know that Mr. Sailer realizes the 2nd part of the big picture - the use of this "issue" as a way to implement more Totalitarian control - control of energy production, distribution, and use, moving on to agriculture... by definition, it doesn't end. Mr. Sailer has noticed how the Lyin' Press - his favorite, of course, for purposes of example, being the NY Times, uses weather phenomenon to push the agenda, that's all.

Thank you, Steve Sailer, and thank you, Alarmist!

Fixed last sentence of (2) which was missing pretty much most parts of speech.

PS: Bill H. I read your post - good common sense there. The cherry-picking of local highs, the calling out big hurricane seasons when they happen to happen, etc. is pretty obvious, if you have any kind of memory at all. I've read a couple of your other posts and will check in on your blog, Bill. Thank you.

Mr. Anon (via your reply to Mr. Hail), I wouldn't go with "irrelevant", but I agree he seems to think it's all pretty harmless in the long run. Well, I mean he sees the damage to the young ladies going F-M tranny or whatever and more black guys getting shot and dying in wrecks and seem to care about them more than the general overall fate of the country and White people. Perhaps that's just his way of staying somewhat out of the sights of the lefties...

I don't know. The guy's very smart, so how could he not really see this long run damage. Or, does he just accept it?

PS: As always, great links, Adam. I go to WattsUpWithThat.com quite often. It's great that he went through the effort on that big study of the placement of weather stations and changes to their local environs. (2nd link.)

SafeNow, for me it's just enjoying the comraderie and the knowledge that not everyone is a panicky moron or Cpmmunist that makes me enjoy going to sites, such as the iSteve comment section where almost, almost nobody is. The problem I have with sites that I disagree with, if they even allow me to speak my mind, is that I don't have the time in the day to refute the premises that begin their stupid thoughts. Then too, there's the blood pressure to keep an eye on...

"I think Steve Sailer does not take Climate Change Ideology seriously. At least to take him at his word here, he treats it like a kind of big joke or marketing-campaign by elites who use it sell newspapers and laugh all the way to the bank, which suggests people don't really believe in it."

Sailer seems to think that the ultra-wealthy and their empowered minions are irrelevant at worst, harmless at best. He does not realize that they hate him and all of us.

I view their machinations - COVID, "Climate Change", etc. - as all of a piece; designed to usher in an age of neofeudalism, with themselves as an unchallenged overlord class. Why? Because. Because they are rich. Because they are arrogant. Because they believe themselves to be superior to us. Because it's no fun being a lord unless everyone else is a serf.

PS And another blithering idiot tries to sound the alarm on "Global Boiling" by telling us that in Death Valley, "the temperature climbed to 128 degrees, within striking distance of the all-time world record the valley set in 1913 — 134 degrees.”

As I commented in yesterday's post, "If you're trying to sound an alarm about the planet warming, why are you telling me that it was 6 degrees hotter 110 years ago than it is today?"

You can read my discussion in it's entirety.

From my comments on Unz, you might recall that I am a big believer in what psychologist + anthropologist types call the biological imperatives.
One of the 6 main BI components is “group-formation.” Besides consisting of one’s immediate physical group, BI experts say that in the mass-media age, the group feeling can approach being “species-wide.” So, BI advocates would agree with Hail’s notion that there is a pro-survival feeling or instinct that comes from being aligned with other people on climate change. I get the same feeling when I log onto a site where people generally agree with me on issues. That feeling is probably operating unconsciously even more strongly than consciously. (Ah, I am SafeNow.)

I don't know that this is the best way to think about it. In other words, I do think that "they" take the ideology seriously. A good analysis of Climate Change Ideology cannot just dismiss it in such terms.

I'd compare it to closing the book on the Lockdowns and why they happened, along with the insane Rolling Deathcounts on every screen over a moderate flu virus, the masks, the travel-bans, the injections of fishy substances, --- saying all these were caused by lobbying by teachers' unions to get a cushy semi-vacation year or two. It's not wrong that they may have wanted that, but it misses a lot of what the "Embarrassing Mass Virus-Panic of the Early 2020s" was, IMO.

I offered a slightly different view on Climate Change Ideology, here:

Will "AI" solve climate change? There are a few ways to go with the idea and its implications. And it's a very popular question, if the Google Auto-Suggestions are to go by (see Steve Sailer blog comment linked to).

The implication of my comment, which I didn't intend when starting to write it, was that even Climate Change Ideology or other such things attempt to rally people to do something, as people, and as such can be life-affirming. Whereas Outsource-Everything-to-"AI" is the opposite, life-disaffirming.

This kind of ideology (Climate ideology) combined with "AI"-ideology seems a bigger danger than even either one alone. It also points to many things in AI-ideology being unresolved.
