China and the Climate Calamity™

  Global Climate Stupidity  China

This post doesn't fall under the "Dispatches from China:" pre-title, as this is nothing gleaned from the Peak Stupidity Long March , errr, road trip. It does come nicely under both the Global Climate Stupidity and China topics that we have been so keen on lately.

Yes, this is an Andrew Anglin headline off of The Unz Review. I didn't read the article and didn't even comment on this stupidity due to there already having been those 126 comments under it.

I agree with the 1st part of the title. Yes, China does. The 2nd part, bad English notwithstanding, implies that we Western Lunatic(s) - I hope he means the Potomac Regime and friends, not people like us regular Americans - are pushing the "Green" agenda to punish China. Yes, there is a push to make China more than just an economic enemy (which it simply is by nature). No, that's not what the green agenda is about.

The green agenda, most recently dubbed Global Boiling, is about CONTROL. The Climate Calamity™ is being used to push control of energy use, distribution, and production along now with control of agriculture. The thing is, China has been pretty much left out of the Global Climate Stupidity and push for control by the West.

(There ya' go with that "emissions" word again!)

You don't see Greta Thunberg sailing a junk over to China and taking the podium in Tienanmen Square to admonish Pooh Bear Xi and the Cadres:
我敢你!

China was let to skate when the Paris Accords were drawn up, you know, it being a developing country and all ... that has poured more concrete in the last 3 years than America poured in the 20th Century.* Thankfully, President Trump came through for Americans and didn't sign that POS.** (PS will give the man credit where it's due.) Zhou Bai Dien is gunning for making it law.

No, the Western countries, as masochistic as they wanna be, are only punishing themselves. China can go ahead and blow smoke and emit that nasty atmospheric component called Carbon Dioxide - the one that plants crave - and they will be left alone.

Why? Why is China being left alone when it comes to Global Boiling matters? Because it's China, that's why. Nobody wants to get on the bad side of China at this point. (See our minor example from 5 years ago regarding the airlines here along with a prequel.) The Globalists are also glad to let the place create the ACTUAL pollution (more on this in a post to come) and to keep the West clean as we all make do by serving each other craft beer and hamburgers.

Per capita, yeah, in '20 Americans still "emitted" 14 tons a piece.
Fourteen tons, and whatddya' get?
One more footprint and deeper carbon debt.
Hey, St. Peter, see this notarized letta.
I sold my soul to a retard named Greta.
Dah-dum, dah-dum, da ... and the Chinese only let loose about 1/2 as much, 7.6 metric-shit tons each. Look at the trend though. The Chinese apparently don't really care about "THE PLANET" - Anglin's headline is right on that.

Now, if Mr. Xi would just come out and say that "this Climate Calamity™ is a load of high-falutin Giant Panda shit, and we high-IQ Chinese people know that there's no working model of the Earth's Climate. Take your treaties and shove 'em. I mean, yeah, we'll sign one, but it better not say China anywhere in it!" and "Suckers!", I'd have some serious respect for the guy.

No, the Chinese leadership really doesn't care that awful much about actual pollution of the environment. However, as per the Adam Smith-linked video on the excess EV's (here), they still seem to want to make a show of going green. I doubt they'll let it seriously get in the way of the growing GDP.

Even after all these years of our letting them infiltrate university research departments and American factories, the Chinese leadership may still think there's something to learn from the West. That would be another method of gaining control of the population. That Covid~Zero thing had a good run, but eventually "we lost them". A Climate Calamity™ or Global Boiling? Yeah, that's working in the West, so couldn't we fool the Chinese people using this same scam? "Surely, you can't be serious, Mr. Xi." "I AM serious, and stop calling me Shi Li!"

* One could come up with some others even more amazing.

** Article II, Section 2, 2nd paragraph:
He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur;...

Mr. M. I will answer your puzzlement. I was on a group alum tour. A very “elite,” prestigious New England university. The visa was a group visa. It was basically a list of names. I knew before the tour that I could only be with the group for week number one, Beijing. After that, I unavoidably had to fly home, while the group moved on. I pre-cleared this with the China consulate in L.A. before the trip. They said it would be no problem. You ask if I was overstaying a visa, but it was actually the opposite. On day one
the generals could simply have had me pay the $50 fine that applied to presenting an irregular situation. But instead, it was stay overnight, pay the fine the next day. On day one they did not tell me that the $50 fine existed.

PS China as an "economic enemy." So that's why we have all those ships and war planes in the Pacific. The defeat the "economic enemy." Makes perfect sense. If you can't out produce them, blow then back into the stone age.

Had a guy on the football team when I was in high school. He wanted my position at linebacker. Tried to be better on the field, but he just wasn't. So he waylaid me one night and tried to beat me up. He remained a bench warmer, only with a broken nose.

PS: Alarmist, I guess they figure since they can turn it on and off at will, they can make the climate JUST RIGHT. There are people who think they know enough to completely control the climate, but it's more worrisome that they think they can control the economy and society in general. They used to be called Communists.

Anyway, that hearkens to the 2nd of the 3 jpg's you pasted in under the Charlie Brown post. I especially like the top one.

PS: I want to put up some catch-up post on the human trafficking and that movie Mike Tre reviewed for me first. I need to get a few more pictures together, but I will start posting about China more soon, SafeNow.

PS: SafeNow, I've never run into anything NEAR like that, and you're talking only 3-5 years before I first went. My first question is, obviously, DID you overstay your visa? Was this a situation in which they were checking you on the way out as Exit Control?

When I think back to last time, I think it was more lax than now.

Anyway, the Kung Flu quarantine business was, IMO, another instance of the Chinese running people through the ringer in order to make a buck. One had to quarantine for 2 weeks in the city of entry and then AGAIN in the destination, meaning there was no point for most people to make the trip unless they were staying in China for good. Hotels, meals, etc. but not any toothsome hotties, were provided, but at the traveler's expense, of course!

You did the right thing just getting the heck out. I am glad to have never experienced anything like that, and that includes the time - just recently - when I photographed the guy doing Exit Control. He was pissed and yelled at me both for snapping the picture and for our lack of filled-out (on-line) health quizzes for on the way out. WTF? If I were sick, just let me out of there. (However, nobody in his right mind will check off anything but NO to the questions of "do you have the sniffles?" etc. Otherwise, as with your situation, who knows when you'll get home.)

Just anxiously waiting for another China report, it’s not here, hey you have other things, I understand, but I thought I would post my own even though it is 20 years old. I was getting ready to board my Air China flight from Beijing to fly home when they found a “problem” with my visa and before you know it I am in a room with a dozen generals. Well they say, we will try to straighten this out, so get a hotel, we will see you here tomorrow. China thus benefited from my cab rides, overnight hotel $stay, hotel dinner and breakfast. Toothsome waitress; I almost said “marry me.” . The next morning the generals point to a sign on the wall in Chinese and they tell me that it says if I pay a $50 fine my problem is resolved. Gee why didn’t they tell me that yesterday. I pay the fine and they tell me there’s another Air China flight in a few days, go back to hotel. I contemplated going back to the hotel and, you guessed it, the toothsome waitress, but instead I paid a gigantic amount of money to board a United flight immediately and leave. it was the right thing to do because who knows what will happen a few days later, maybe you can check -out but you can never leave.

Yes, blocking sunlight seems like a splendid idea.

As Angele Merkel, the Ossievergeltungswaffe, once said, “Wir schaffen das.”

YMMV.

PS: First of all, I remember the name Holman Jenkins from my WSJ reading years (about 2 of them) about 25 years ago. Still there, huh?

What's the carbon footprint of one of those misting yachts? Hah. OK, I imagine they worked out that there'd be a net benefit, but this all assumes that we actually know which direction things are going even, based on WORKING math models, including ALL processes. We don't. The artists envisionment of misting yachts makes them pretty though.

I think the Chinese are plain not worried for 2 reasons: 1) They might listen to the climate scientists that know climate modeling is a work in progress and are not under pressure to go green and 2) Even if they believe it, "fuck it. We need to become THE economy of the world - not agonna let this carbon footprint business get in the way.

I suggest, as I have already, that we ask for a firm deadline on when it'll be too late to stop the Global Boiling. They like to give us hard deadlines to get us off our carbon asses. When the date comes, we can chillaxe. "Too late now - crank up the barbie, open up a Fosters. We're done for anyway ..."

Here is a picture of a misting yacht. I think this is so endearing looking in a retro kind of ship-smokestack way. But the part that is not retro is that the droplets have to be really really nano tiny.

Holman Jenkins, a Wall Street Journal unconstrained regular columnist, has often written that eventually there will be geoengineering to increase the earth’s albedo (reflectivity). Sulfur flakes in the atmosphere, misting yachts) The idea is to offset the effect of hydrocarbon emissions. The Chinese realize that the above will happen no matter what,
so, what the heck, burn baby, burn. Holman says that the inevitability of geoengineering is “an unsaysble” because if it were publicized, then all countries would say what the heck, we might as well aggressively burn fossil fuels. I personally favor the misting yachts because if other methods create unintended results, uh-oh, we are stuck with those flakes floating way up there, but the mist would go away quickly.
