Trump v DeSantis: Round 10 - Vetoing the Hecklers

It's been quite a while since we've posted an installment of Peak Stupidity's Trump v DeSantis series. It's perfect timing to have one of them on the day of the Iowa caucus populatirty match-up. Let me link here to the previous rounds: Round 1 - Personalities - - Round 2 - Immunity to Kung Flu Panic - - Round 3 - Immigration Invasion - - Round 4 - Tag Team? - - Addendum - David Cole article - - Round 5 - The Ukraine/Russia War(mongering) - - Round 6 - Quantity of Hatred Generated - - Round 7 - Richard Hanania Substack post -- Round 8 - Birthright Citizenship and Round 9 - Ken Cuccinelli interview.

This time, we have a real apples-to-apples comparison between these two Conservative (best we can seem to get) GOP Presidential candidates, with video to display here for comment.

The Gateway Pundit is a site I've been frequenting since my recent loss. Jim Holt, who writes much of the material is not my favorite by any means - I'll comment on the site another time - but he gets into these little stories of the moments, in a way like a gossip site, but without involving the Kardashians. (This is different garbage.)

I'm not sure if this was the timetable in real time, but the Gateway Pundit site had 2 stories within a day on each of these 2 candidates having dealt with "Climate Justice" activists disrupting their Iowa speeches. They may deal with this sort of thing more often than we see, and from protesters of various other issues. They may as well exercise some veto power here, skillfully, in order to rally the crowd. These were both by Climate Calamity™ activists and seemingly similar-scale venues. This makes for a great comparison of one personality trait or skill between the 2 men.

Since Ron DeSantis is the challenger, in a way, his video comes first:

Donald Trump, the champion (of something, bullshittery or better, shallow-Statedness, i.e. least connected to the Deep State) comes last:

What do these 2 veto reactions to the protester/hecklers say about these 2 men? Let me compare. I will say that Ron DeSantis come-back, once he got around to it, was fairly good. These kind of crap IS what American universities are coming out with as "product". It was a good point. What Donald Trump did, in his case, was to make a juvenile remark instead.

Here's the problem with Ron DeSantis' reaction, after that guy made that quick tackle, that is. It took WAY too long, way, way, way too long, from after the guy was "quieted down" at 0:12 to 0:27, that's 15 seconds! After 3 seconds, then 5 seconds, I figured, well, I got something, so what's the Governor gonna say. I haven't found much to disagree with him on, and I figure that'd hold when it came to the stupidity we write about often here with the Global Climate Stupidity topic key. The delay by Governor DeSantis was far too long for a good comeback to be the most effective.

I'd have done better. I don't say this in hindsight, as something I thought about the next morning while in the shower. No, as I waited maybe 3 seconds, I already had something in my head. The trick to "thinking on one's feet", which is what this is about, is to get an idea going, with a start that might allow for some follow-up thinking WHILE one has started talking. Here's me: "Nice tackle, but wait, ... " [I'd be thinking ahead here] "I gotta say, this guy may have a real point here. I mean ... I mean, it's 10 degrees outside and blowin'! I was right here in Iowa a few months back, and I was sweatin' my balls off! I mean, something's goin' on...." Sarcasm, and yes, some crudeness, and humor. It works ... for me at least... I'm LOLing as I write.

Perhaps one must have an inkling of how he'd start off in "vetoing" these hecklers ahead of time. I'm not sure. This is something that Donald Trump is very good at, though. He did have one advantage here - so, this is not QUITE apples-to-apples - in that his crowd was louder, so he had time during his mindlessly saying "That's alright", "thank you" or whatever, to get a thought going. However, I don't think he needed that. He's good at this.

What'd Trump finally come out with, with pretty good timing as the crowd settled down? "Go home to Mommy." Haha, I am LOLing writing this one too, in fact! Every! Single! Time! I think about it, I've LOLed. (Yeah, that'll wear off eventually.) It's humorous and silly. It's just so GOOD though!

Note that neither of the 2 candidates actually addressed the Climate Calamity™ issue with an argument. That's fine. It wasn't the time for that, and, as Peak Stupidity has discussed recently, with the ctrl-left nowadays, on the campaign trail, and maybe anywhere, it's NEVER the time.

I think Ron DeSantis is more intelligent than Trump, more of a tactical and strategic thinker, and more capable of GETTING! STUFF! DONE! He's just not as good a campaigner. This thinking on one's feet and coming up with a quick comeback is important, no matter how silly (haha, "Go home ot your Mommy!", LOL) it is.

In Round 10, it's Trump by a knock-out. Ron DeSantis, go home to your Mommy!

PS: My wife just showed me that Trump won the Iowa caucus handily. See?

PS: "And the biggest reason for that might be the Russia-Collusion hoax, set into motion by Anthony Blinken and the 50+ secret-service people he coordinated behind the scenes - as we KNOW now - - to make that Russia-Collusion story fly. - He was scuccessful - but the price was, that he - as we see now - .l.o.s.t. flyover country completely. - A Huuuuge, hehe, damage. "

I really hope that was the result of that 3 year piece of Infotainment, Dieter. I wrote in a post here in summer of '18 (I think) that I could not believe that the talking heads were still on that ridiculous claim after that long. This was due to my not having watched a bit of TV but then being over an out-of-town friend's brother's house where they were seated in front of Fox News. Any channel, I don't care - this was just years of Infotainment. Nobody was forced to pay attention to that stuff. However, it worked, because cat-brained Trump let himself get distracted for those years by this - that was a good enough goal by the ctrl-left.

Trump should have gotten one trusted lawyer friend to handle it. "Sorry, I don't talk about that case. You can email my lawyer. Now, about the deportations of DACA valedictorians ..."

1) Stephen Miller will be there Mod.
2) Serious people say that the nix-moment
could only have been prevented by winnig the election - - - The Biden administration did what they wanted to and nothing could have prevented them from doing it, as soon as they were - - IN POWER.

Now flyover country is fed up with that. - I think they also feel seriously betrayed. - And the biggest reason for that might be the Russia-Collusion hoax, set into motion by Anthony Blinken and the 50+ secret-service people he coordinated behind the scenes - as we KNOW now - - to make that Russia-Collusion story fly. - He was scuccessful - but the price was, that he - as we see now - .l.o.s.t. flyover country completely. - A Huuuuge, hehe, damage.

I guess that is what matters most now - and there is just no way around it. The Biden-story is completely worn out and falling apart; and the naggin' feeling of having been had is in the world and doing its work - : - extraordionarily strong support for Donald Trump.

PS: Dieter, Trump had successes on immigration*, but mostly via deals with people who may not be here next year or may not honor them and rules made within the bureaucracy, which got nixed on Day One of Bai Dien. If Trump were King and lived 25 more years, it could have worked...

Steven Miller is great. If he were Pres, the deportations might just happen. I have no confidence Trump will follow through. He'll start talking about "they are decent people... blah, blah, blah...", and, as I've read from numerous sources, he'll just follow the advice of whoever talked to him last. (Might not be Steven Miller - might be Javanka again. Has he learned anything about that?)

I think you are right, Mr. Blanc, that the GOP Inc. would love Mx. Randhawa. The Deep State and about everyone in Washington, FS would be glad for her to win the election too, as it'd give that illusion of this 2-party system we supposedly have. Yet, the same old same old would happen politically. I would really like to see Nimradesss get trounced like a red-dotted step child in South Carolina. It's one of the early primaries, and it's her home State.

* I also give Trump credit for getting at least a small amount of tariffs put in place against the inbound cheap China-made crap. They are still in place, amazingly.

PS: Alarmist, that is my take. It's a damn shame, as, if Trump had had the strategic mindset, along with having picked those with the same, as a Ronald Reagan, a whole lot of anti-invasion, and anti-warmongering policies could have been put into place, lots more permanently, than what we saw happen. Oh, and even with the cheating, Trump could have won the '20 election. Or, as per Ken Cuccinelli in that clip from "Round 9", Trump could have successfully urged Americans to get control of more of the voting process too.

Mr. Hail, I'm torn between the two, blowing up the system or seeing someone who has the capability to do a better job.

PS: Dieter, I know you are a big Jordan Peterson adherent. I'll check out the video. I have a hard time believing that Donald Trump is that smart - IQ 130. He's very good at what he does - his personality has helped him with his career, and I'm sure he has lots of political smarts that a big-time NYC real estate magnate needs.

If he IS that smart, well, he doesn't use his intelligence very well, without having the organizational skills and self-discipline to make intelligent plans. He does everything on the fly, which, as we can see here, is pretty good for campaigning and rallies.

PS Whatever one thinks of the relative merits of the candidates, at least one thing has become clear: Mr DeSantis is not going to be the Repub presidential nominee in 2024. Repub voters don’t support him. They support Nimrata Randhawa about as much as they support Mr DeSantis. Of course, it matters little what the Repub voters think. What matters is what the national and state Repub committees, Repub office holders, and, especially, Repub donors think. And they want Mx Randhawa. Whether they will manage to insert her, and how they manage to do it if they do, are not yet determined. I’m still of the opinion that Mr Trump will not be the nominee, but we shall see.

Mr. Hail - - Jeffrey A. Tucker has found a way to say nasty things about people in flyover counties without sounding too degrading...

More honest is Matt Taibbi's, Jonathan Haidt's (!) and Jordan B. Peterson's approach, who agree that Trump has a point when it comes to the destructive side of illegal immigration. What I don't quite get is, that Trump's immigration successes don't count at all. Trump had Stepehen Miller for that job and he is sharp as a tack(when in doubt, read what Stevce Sailer wrote about him).

This Stephen Miller tweeted out today:

New ABC News/Ipsos poll says only 33% approve of the job President Biden is doing.28% think Biden has the mental sharpness it takes to serve effectively as president.18% approve of his handling of the border.

And Miller said this: "The deportations (of illegal immigrants, dk) will begin at noon, iauguration day.

"We've seen this tendency for years: voters who simply favor the most 'crazy' and unhinged person running for office. This might be the main issue with DeSantis. He sounds very reasonable. Many voters don't want that. They want to blow up the system."

PS

Most of the senior ministers of the Third Reich were genius-level and higher. I don’t know what one learns from that factoid.

I’ve met Trump. He is not dumb, but he is a narcissist who needs to be liked, which is why he is a sucker for sycophants who go on to stab him in the back once they are found to not be a good fit for his organization or administration.

There’s a reason I refer to Bush the Younger as the Shrub.

So - Iowa as expected. German press blamed one more time: They saw lots of signs indicating that Trump would sink... group of Evangelicals speaking out against Trump publicly for example. - Turned out that nothing of these little things they focused on did matter.

PS
Ron DeSantis - says Steve Sailer, is close to 130 IQ points (saying slightly below, actually - George W. Bush son territory with Bush father higher up methinks).

Donald Trump? My conservative guess would be: Not below 130.
Look at what Jordan B. Peterson says about him in office - note that the term complex character is psychologist's talk to say: Not dumb. There are other clips in which Peterson talks about Trump's successes as entrepreneur:
He did achieve a lot as author, TV-showman, real-estate big man. He was down to below zero and fought his way
back up...

As I said, his main ability is to get the basics right. Like bringing dwon illegal immigration numbers; promoting free speech; saying how do we get along with China? With Putin/Russia?

Policy-wise, Putin/Russia is DeSantis' biggest weakness so far.

Joe Rogan. a stage-performer himself, who ain't dumb, is thrilled when it comes to the way in which Trump handles his rallies: He sees him as being way above average in his stage-presence. This is something that Matt Taibbi remarked in his look back at his reporting from the campaign trail in 2020: Trump was just brilliant. Very flexible, changing his speeches by the minute, when necessary - and changing them often without much of a script. These are things you need quite a bit of brain power to do them properly.

General Kurt von Hammerstein-Equord comes to mind, who left the chief of Wehrmacht position after Hitler had made
it to the top. Colonel von Hammerstein used to say: The top leaders know that is important to - let go! every once in a while.

Not least under great pressure. He even proposed quite some laziness as the right approach to very complex tasks.
He would have loved the fact that Trump is good at golf.

here is the link to a very short youtube-video of Peterson speaking about Trump's character:
