Gasoline prices update

  Inflation

(Kind of continued from our Sept. '18 posts "Recent history of gasoline prices" - Part 1 and Part 2.)

The changes over the years in the price of gasoline seem to always stay in my head, going back to the 2nd OPEC "crisis" of 1979. Why do I remember the prices? Well, I buy gas regularly. Most other people do too though, but, as I've written recently, I guess many people don't wonder why but just pay.

I've run into this a whole lot lately as I keep seeing prices make serious increases as if this were 1980: "Why is it higher? I haven't had a claim." "Well, things are just going up." You'll hear this all the time if you question something that you don't see has any particular reason to be higher in cost than last month. "Things are going up." "They just are." As with inflation in general, the real story is that the US dollar is becoming worth less and less. That's all. Let's talk gasoline now.

Gas prices during the Kung Flu spring and summer:

Where I live, besides those crazy low prices in April or so (a friend got some for under a buck a gallon), I recall that 87 Octane was under $2 for approximately 6 months. It was slowly creeping up for a while, but the prices have been increasing more quickly over the last 2 months.

I won't repeat the whole long story from the 2-part post linked to above. It goes back to the 1960s. Gasoline stayed fairly stable for most of the '10s decade, when I thought it would slowly creep up due to the decline of the dollar. Fracking was going gangbusters, though, and others told me gas would never go up again - keep the SUVs and old muscle cars. That was the point, a few years back, when I decided that I'm going to quit pretending I can know the why's of oil price changes.

The Kung Flu PanicFest and subsequent drastic decline in demand due to LOCKDOWNS and a huge amount of unemployment caused, of course, the sharp dip that we are pretty much out of. This is about the normal price now:

OK, i dig it. Prices are going back to that "normal" pretty stable price zone of $2.20 to $2.75, where they were for a decade. No, but I've been hearing lately that we are in for big increases in the price of gas, maybe going up to the levels of the highs in '08 and '12. Will it go back up to 4 or 5 bucks?

I wrote at the end of that 2-part series that those prices are really not extreme when you deal in real money. That is especially true 9-13 years after those last high prices. At $4/gal two silver dimes will get you most of a gallon of gas (0.93 gallons at today's spot price). Same as 50 years ago, in 1961, when they still minted silver dimes. Same as it ever was.

PS: Mr. Ganderson, I had to look for that unz comment, as it was not under a writer I normally read. Yeah, the guy was insulting, but people assume a whole lot sometimes on the web. It was a stupid comment of his more than viscous IMO.

OK, so it's about the DIL being worried about your grandkid. What can you do? I know you don't want to lie to them about it. I was in a similar situation with my wife when she was panicky back in April through June or so. She got better... much better. I hope you see the same thing, but for most, I guess the jab is the savior of mankind or something ...

PS: Just a piece of background: Nobel Prize winner Kary Mullis had his strong disagreement with Dr. Fauci on HIV and AIDS. Fauci has been around a mighty long time. Too long.

PS: Good evening Mr. Ganderson...

I think I saw the same clip of Kary Mullis, the one where he calls Fauci an incompetent know nothing and an unprincipled liar.

I too have heard that the J and J vaccine is less “experimental”. I heard the same thing about the sputnik vaccine.

https://www.fda.gov/media/146305/download

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/health/johnson-johnson-covid-19-vaccine.html

"Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine comes out of decades of research on adenovirus-based vaccines."

"Adenovirus-based vaccines for Covid-19 are more rugged than mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. DNA is not as fragile as RNA, and the adenovirus’s tough protein coat helps protect the genetic material inside. As a result, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can be refrigerated for up to three months at 36–46°F (2–8°C)."

PS

Mr. Smith, it was a video posted on Unz featuring Vanden Bossche. Sorry.

PS One of the things I’ve read is that the J and J vaccine is less “experimental”. What has anyone else heard that?

I’m a reasonably well- informed layman, but not a scientist. And I don’t trust the people who fancy themselves our betters.

I also saw a clip of Kary Mullis absolutely trashing St. Tony.

As I’m typing this there is a PSA on about making sure I distance and wear my mask. The tone is really condescending.

PS: Good afternoon everyone...

Mr. Ganderson, I don't recall posting or seeing a video with a Belgian virologist. I did post a video a little while back with an Irish lady who studies molecular genetics. I think she's talking about antibody dependent enhancement and/or other autoimmune disorders.

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2021/01/bill-sardi/horrific-latent-deaths-predicted-among-the-elderly-by-genetics-professor-after-immunization-with-rna-vaccines/

(I wish they didn't add the ominous music to her interview.)

I recently found this video of different doctors voicing their concerns about mass experimental “vaccination”...

https://rumble.com/vbsf6r-doctors-speaking-about-covid-and-vaccines.html

And this open letter from Dr. Geert Vanden Bossche...

https://dundasvalley.files.wordpress.com/2021/03/public-health-emergency-of-international-concern-5-pages-march-6-2021.pdf

Dr. Bossche is concerned that this mass vaccination experiment will cause the phenomenon known as “viral immune escape” and that this is a threat to humanity. Dr. Bossche thinks that Mass vaccination of the elderly will dramatically enhance morbidity and mortality rates in the younger age groups. He and I are in agreement that mass vaccination is currently turning recently vaccinated people into asymptomatic carriers who are shedding infectious variants and thus spreading disease.

As Mr. Hail pointed out, people who have recovered from “SARS-CoV-2” and children should not take the experimental jab. Unfortunately, they've begun testing the moderna vaccine on children and infants.

It seems to me that for the last year the “people pretending to be in charge” have made every policy “mistake” possible to make the situation worse. Either these people are truly the dumbest bunch of dumbfucks ever or there is some other agenda and all this medical theater is cover for advancing that agenda. While I do believe there has been a colossal amount of stupidity, incompetence, cowardice and avarice on display for our viewing enjoyment this past year, the amateur ponerologist in me cannot help but think there is also some real evil driving the policies that the “governments” of the world have chosen.

Rest assured Mr. Ganderson, you are not the only one who has had the poo scared out of him.

Anyway, enough gloom. How about something uplifting...

PS

World-leading epidemiologist Martin Kulldorff of Harvard (an Anti-Panic hardliner by now) has repeatedly stressed that only high-risk people and their direct caretakers (e.g., nursing home staff) who have not previously "had Covid" should get a Covid vaccine.

Denounces 100%-vaccination goal as foolish...implying that the net risk exceeds the net gain for the vast majority, including probably the majority of those who have already gotten it.

The exact line is hard to say, but there is a hypothetical health-condition line above which it's best not getting the vaccine. He especially warns not to give it to children.

PS
Mr. Smith, perhaps it wasn't you that posted the link- the guy is a Belgian virologist who argues that the Covid 9 Vactines ( to use Slow Joe’s locution) outcompete our general antibodies with covid specific ones, thus weakening the overall immune system and strengthening the viruses. No idea if it’s true, but it scared the poo out of me.

Tempers are getting short- not here, of course, but over at Unz someone insulted me, my son, and my daughter in law in the same post.

She’s worried about the baby, I think. I know why she shouldn’t be, but interfering is not something we scandies, even of the American variety, do.

Mr Smith the video you linked to by that Belgian doctor scares the heck out of me.

Alarmist, you are right, but I wanted to just pick exactly 50 years ago. Some data I looked at had the prices staying around 30 cents a gallon for a good bit of the 1960s.

PS: Mr. Ganderson, Adam reminded me that I meant to write you back that I'd hold off on the shot as long as I could. The nurse in our family is in no hurry to get one even. She sent me some video about it. Personally, I am not that worried about taking it, and I am not that worried about not taking it. So, I'm not taking it. ;-}

Who is your daughter-in-law worried about, you, or her family?

PS Mr. Hail, I just dropped this on your site:

“I’d have to go back and look it up, and just to go all Groucho (Whatever it is, (something DiAngelo believes/ promotes) I’m against it), but my memory of the Dobelle case is that it was ordinary hackerama stuff, not so much wokeness in action. But, I’ll go have a shufti.”

Note the double parentheses- do I know my stuff or what?

The state colleges in Mass are amazingly corrupt- Billy Bulger was once president of the university system (as distinct from the state college system, which includes Westfield) Marty Meehan, current system Grand Poobah is an old Congressional hack, who broke his “no more than three terms in Congress” pledge and then had one of his flacks go and remove reference to it on his Wikipedia page.

I don’t have any doubt that the likes of DiAngelo could find a race angle, though.

PS: Good afternoon everyone...

They're really pushing the poison needle hard this year.

Mr. Ganderson...

https://www.wglt.org/sites/wglt/files/styles/medium/public/202101/Vaccine01_21_Bollinger14.jpg

Maybe I can find one a little straighter and clearer, but just print it out and fill in the blanks. Surely if you tell her you got the jab she won't ask to see your vaccine report card.

Does your daughter in law know that this jab is experimental? Please tell me your pregnant daughter in law didn't take the covid jab... Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take any vaccines.

Does she know that "Pfizer's vaccine killed ‘about 40 times more (elderly) people’ and ‘260 times’ more of the young than ‘what the COVID-19 virus would have claimed in the given time frame.’"

Even when people die immediately after receiving the jab the media instructs us not believe our own lying eyes...

https://www.lewrockwell.com/2021/03/no_author/reports-of-deaths-after-covid-vaccines-up-by-259-in-1-week-cdc-data-show/

You may have read these already...

https://www.unz.com/gatzmon/the-israeli-mutant-the-idf-prophecy-and-the-reality-on-the-ground/

I won't be getting jabbed with the poison needle. I'm not really that concerned with the chance of dying right after the vaccine, though it is a real possibility and happens to many people*, gotta break a few omelettes and all that. I'm more concerned with the lifelong adverse health effects caused by vaccines and the wild chemicals in them.

If anyone asks I'll just tell than that I'm allergic to WI-38, MRC-5 and PEG-2000.

*My grandfather died of complications from a flu shot.

Whatever you decide to do Mr. Ganderson, I hope it's the right choice for you. If you choose the needle I hope you have no undesirable effects.

I hope you have a nice afternoon.

@GAnderson (and also OT), I know you know about such things so I wonder if you recall or have any insights into the firing of Westfield State president Evan Dobelle back in 2013?

I've recently found out that America's top diversity-trainer, Robin DiAngelo, had one of her first ever press appearances in 2013 associated with the matter. She demanded Dobelle be "terminated," no time for investigation:

PS: I am not a Floridian, Mr. G, but (as I'll write in a comment back to Mr. Anon under the previous post shortly), I've been to Miami Beach lately, the panhandle in the summer and St. Pet last summer too. I saw a low mask madness level, in general.

There's always photoshop, Mr. Ganderson. If it's good enough for an ex-President, it ought to be good enough for the proles.

Mr. Kief, maybe you can chime in on that vax-passport business. It's not quite as bad as the China electronic version of this, just because the latter is harder to hack, IMO, but still Orwellian stuff.

OT, And crossposted but...

My daughter in law, who is expecting, wants me to get the jab. I initially said yes, but I’m reconsidering. If I could get a fake or stolen vax certificate I would- where’s the Mafia when you really need it? I noticed last week that Frau Linkmeyer in Germany wants vax passports for travel; mark of the beast, anyone? I’m not a Fundamentalist, but maybe it’s time to pull out my trusty King James and re-read Revelations.

On a slightly related, and a sort of “good news, bad news” kind of deal:

Watching the Players Championship yesterday, which was played in Florida, the good news was they allowed spectators, albeit a limited number. Bad news: I was surprised that probably 90% of the fans were masked- OUTSIDE! I thought Florida was open, or is this the PGA signaling its devotion to the Great God Corona-chan? Any Floridians out there who can explain?
