With all the great music the band Rush made, only this song, from their album Signals, got into the Billboard magazine American top 40 list. Speaking of 40, that was 40 years ago this past Fall.

PS: Haha, that Devo number was just before my time. No, I had not seen that Chinaman part before. I will think of "Are we not men - we are Devo" when I think of Davos men from now on.
Mr. Ganderson, that is one Steely Dan song I've never heard. I'm looking forward to your version. I think you steered me to that "10 bucks is 10 bucks" skit before, didn't you?
I wish I could have seen Rush in concert. They had a lot of things going for them, the Libertarian politics, the sci-fi themes, and then just a great sound from the 3 of them.

I used to think I had a pretty good life here, just plugging into my machine for the day, then watching Templevison or reading a Temple Paper in the evening.
My friend Jon always said it was nicer here under the atmospheric domes of the Outer Planets.
We have had peace here since 2062, when the surviving planets were banded together under the Red Star of the Solar Federation.
The less fortunate gave us a few new moons.

When I saw the title I immediately thought it was a play on Steely Dan’s “Third World Man”- I’ll work on it.
Never was much of a Rush fan, although Geddy Lee did a nice guest star turn on “The Great White North”: “10 bucks is 10 bucks, eh?”
