(Graphic lifted as is from VDare.)

Peak Stupidity has been blessed to have not read a thing in quite a while about so-called Pope Francis. His name came up again today though in an Allan Wall post on VDare. Of all the writers on the VDare site, Mr. Wall is the one who comes across to me as the most low-keyed. If he sounds pissed, well... A couple of days ago, he posted Vatican Document Repudiates The "Doctrine Of Discovery" Are All Western Hemisphere Nation-States (Including The U.S.) Illegitimate?. He excerpted some writing from the Associated Press:
The Vatican on Thursday [March 30] responded to Indigenous demands and formally repudiated the “Doctrine of Discovery,” the theories backed by 15th-century “papal bulls” that legitimized the colonial-era seizure of Native lands and form the basis of some property laws today.

A Vatican statement said the papal bulls, or decrees, “did not adequately reflect the equal dignity and rights of Indigenous peoples” and have never been considered expressions of the Catholic faith.
Writes Mr. Wall:
Papal bulls ”have never been considered expressions of the Catholic faith”? Really?
Not being Catholic, I wouldn't know. It's nice not to have to pretend the so-called Pope has some divine right to put out a (bunch of) bull. More from the AP:
On Thursday [March 30], these Indigenous leaders welcomed the statement as a first good step, even though it didn’t address the rescinding of the bulls themselves and continued to take distance from acknowledging actual Vatican culpability in abuses. The statement said the papal documents had been “manipulated” for political purposes by competing colonial powers “to justify immoral acts against Indigenous peoples that were carried out, at times, without opposition from ecclesial authorities.”

It said it was right to “recognize these errors,” acknowledge the terrible effects of colonial-era assimilation policies on Indigenous peoples and ask for their forgiveness.
Mr. Wall again:
Is the Vatican saying that all post-1492 Western-founded colonies which became nation states of the Western Hemisphere are illegitimate?
Any bishops or cardinals reading the blog today? (I haven't gotten around to checking for Vatican IP numbers.) Listen, please learn this now, and learn it good: YOU! DO! NOT! HIRE! LATIN AMERICANS! FOR! THE! POSITION! OF! POPE! Most religious leaders there are Liberation Theologists, which means they are Communists. If you're having a hard time recruiting, get Vatican HR to interview in Eastern Europe again, Africa, Newfoundland, whatever, but just don't go Latin American.

So-called Pope Francis has been stupidity working against Christianity by encouraging mass immigration. Now he wants to cancel the history of and pride in everything Western civilization accomplished over the last 4 1/3 centuries. Now there's some papal bull from a real papal bullshitter.

PS

Granted it was in jest, but it is most likely the RCC indeed died with the accession of the Pretender from the Pampas.

Although The Alarmist's jests with the line "R.I.P The Roman Catholic Church, 33 A.D. - 2013 A.D.", I feel compelled to add that there is no way to legitimately/objectively date the Roman Catholic Church, as an institution, to the first century.

I know they like to claim Peter as the "first pope" and all, but that seems to me patent self-mythologizing.

The more defensible dates for the start-date of that church begin coming in the fourth century, e.g.:

- the conversion of Constantine (310s AD);

- the agreement by a council of Christian experts on doctrines that produced the trinitarian Nicene Creed (320s AD) (the Nicene Creed is foundational to all later Christianity that we traditionally recognize as such, and knocked out the unitarians and various others on the scene; unitarian thinking later revived with Islam and now with Mormonism and others);

- then, at the end of the fourth century, in comes the heavy-hitter known as Augustine of Hippo (born 354 AD; prolific writing begins in the 380s AD and continues decades).

PS: I gotta say, though knowing not much about all the papal practices and the RCC, I didn't think Popes would just resign or "get resigned" Was that another big Globalist move on behalf of the New World Order? Ann Barnhardt has a lot to say about this, pretty often.

I really don't know about Putin. His country has got a fairly large number of Moslems (part and parcel of the old USSR empire), but at least, I suppose, he's not letting them in, or pretty much inviting them like the Brits and Herr Merkel do. However, how serious are the Russian Christians? I feel like people are losing religion everywhere - even the old East Bloc.

More proof it was truly a shame that they pushed that nice Catholic German boy aside to install this atheistic globalist stooge.

R.I.P The Roman Catholic Church, 33 A.D. - 2013 A.D.

Thank Heaven for Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, who is helping to keep Christianity going, hopefully well into its third millenium, because the RCC guys couldn’t get their fork through its full second millennium.
