IIA patriots have been saying this for years. If you somehow succeed in banning guns from those who don't respect the laws anyway, next you're gonna need knife control. This has been illustrated so well in the formerly-United Kingdom, where just that is going on. It's really about the PEOPLE, people. The Gateway Pundit reports Four Dead, Several Injured in Stabbing Spree in Northern Illinois — Suspect in Custody.
This story from Rockford, Illinois is about a mass stabbing, not shooting. Four people are dead. 7 others were injured. The USA Today article linked-to in the Gateway Pundit Post makes it sound like this didn't happen in the hood itself. It doesn't read as if the victims are all hood rats.
As for the mass murderer,

Due to the unfortunate location of Chicago, the State of Illinois has more than its share of laws involving and against purchasing guns and carrying them. That may or may not have stopped some of the victims from defending themselves against death or bodily trauma. Those laws DEFINITELY didn't stop this mass killing, though.
I only posted about this particular story due to a part of a statement I read from the Rockford Chief of Police:
“This is a pretty painstaking event,” Chief Redd expressed. “My heart goes out to the families right now who are suffering a loss.”I don't know. I guess you don't have to be a man (or woman) of letters to be a Police Chief, but... "painstaking"? Did the Chief mean that this mass murder in Rockford was painstakingly planned? I seriously doubt that. I don't think that word means what Chief Redd think it means. Better axe the internet next time.

PS Poor Rockford. It used to be the Screw Capital of the World, until it was “deindustrialized”. I was a bit surprised that it’s Negro population is just a bit more than 20%. I have a step-cousin who lives there. He’s in machining and says that the place is making a bit of a come-back. I hope so, but am not making any large wagers.

You could at least understand it if it's South Texas, or New Mexico. There has always been a layer of Hispanics on the old periphery with Mexico. Those were primarily White-Spaniard-stock "Hispanics." But some of them have long coattails and some distant cousin-Mestizos might be expected here and there.
But why as far north as northern Illinois? They had zero hand in building the area. They have zero ties to the place.
The same could be said, and "asked," or Blacks. But anyone familiar with Chicago history of the past century knows that story. Blacks had very little presence in Chicago, no real "hand" in building Chicago in any way, its development, up to the 1910s. And the vast hinterland outside Chicago will literally have had zero Blacks in most cases.
I've said it before in these comments and elsewhere, and will say it again: Europe was stupid to go into a pointless general-war in 1914, the USA was stupid to join it. Of all the list of misfortunes that followed, U.S. Black migration to northern cities really dug in, really began, with the sudden spike in labor-demand especially in 1917. Later it became ideological, and it was impossible to get them to leave... But the start of the chain-of-events actually dates to "World War One."
As for the Hispanics like the mass-stabber here, why are they there? I have no good explanation, except hat Diversity-ideology demands exotic people get sprinkled around, and the Regime's border-and-nationality policy demands and enforces this.

The county itself is more White, as I would have expected. Wiki say (in '20): Oh, I just saw the Mr. Hail's numbers are for the county. The city of Rockford is quite a bit worse:
