Best post title EVAH! It's stolen though. ZeroHedge already had one pretty good title for their post yesterday regarding the financial problems of the Hooters chain of breastaurants - Going Bust: Hooters To Re-Jiggle After Filing Chapter 11 Bankruptcy In Founder-Led Buyout. Yeah, I see 2 good ones in the title, and one more in the 1st paragraph.
However, the best of the many fun comments there, BY FAR, was the succinct line that is Peak Stupidity's post title. It turns out, that was Tyler Durden's title of this post back in February. Nice job, all involved!

The stupidity is pretty in your face here, as the Hooters MBA's have decided to go family friendly. Yes, that's the ticket, overpriced chicken wings and beer WITHOUT the hot ladies. I'm sure these MBA's have this all worked out in their re-org plans, with spreadsheets, Gantt Charts, and all good stuff, perhaps thinking of M&A's instead of T&A.
With Hooters on the verge of bankruptcy, the legendary restaurant where you can eat mediocre food and check out tits (and pay in cash so your wife doesn't find out) is getting rid of Bikini Nights and skimpy outfits, and hopes that an improvement in the food will stave off doom.An improvement in the food. I just don't think that's gonna get enough support for the sagging sales.

Thanks, Mr. Smith. And here I thought you were a wise sage older than I.
My gut originally wanted to say Mississippi, but I went with Alabama. Always trust your gut.

PS: Good evening, Achmed,
I went to a Hooters just once. I was ~16 at the time. It was located at 4350 Maple Road in Amherst, NY. (I didn't remember the address, just roughly where it was. I looked it up to see when it opened. April of 1993. It was pretty new when I visited and the opening date in the following article is in harmony with my memory.)

I don't remember the food being bad or good really. But what does a 16 year old boy know about good food anyway. (I didn't.) I remember having chicken wings and something else. (I think it was a burger.) Typical mid 90's corporate goyslop establishment. The girls were cute but not exceptional. (But again, what did I know.) This location closed in 2006.

As long as I'm reminiscing and we're talking about chicken wings...

The Anchor Bar has more than one location now. (Pretty crazy. To me there is only one.) I used to go to the Anchor Bar fairly often for awhile because they had decent food and live music. (This was a long time ago but I was old enough to legally buy beer. Barely.) I'm sure I've been there a couple dozen times.

I can honestly claim the Chappelle joke as my own.

PS: You all reminded me that I did mean to write in this post that I've been 2 or 3 times. I can remember 2 of them - different cities, but I imagine there was one more time too. The girls vary slightly in endowments, but to me, I don't think the concept would make me a regular visitor to these establishments.

PS: Good evening, everyone...
And good evening, Mr. Alarmist,
Hattiesburg, Mississippi, apparently...

For some strange reason, this location closed in 2019.

Evening all. Mr. Smith, is that Hooters in Alabama? In any case, thatโs simply wrong.
I took Mrs. Alarmist to Hawaii a couple decades ago, and she spotted a Hooters and suggested we give it a try. The waitresses were pretty, biut nothing particularly hot. What was funny was how dead it was. There were perhaps twenty people there, and two of the Hooters gals were trying to get a German couple a couple tables over to engage in a Hula-Hoop contest, which was funny only because of the tepid response they were getting from the Germans. The food was crap.
Frankly, Iโm surprised it took this long for the for Hooters to go tango uniform.

PS: I caught 2 buns, errr, puns there right off the bat. Thanks for that anecdote about Roger Ebert. Yeah, he was pretty wrong on that. I was mostly Paul Simon, IMO, but that was some great music. (Not just in the movie.)
Yeah, girls like that with nice smiles can make you feel pretty good! That is, so long as they are not so obviously fake... I mean their manner, not the Hooters.

Thank you, Mr. Moderator, for getting this off your chest. I was unaware. Please keep us abreast of future developments. Here is lesson Hooters can take from Roger Ebert. In his original review of The Graduate, , he referred to โthe forgettable music of Simon & Garfunkel.โ Years later, Ebert cheerfully acknowledged that โI was wrong.โ The lesson? Obviously it is this: Do one thingโฆthe thing you are good at. Ebert was a movie critic. (The best, for my money) He tried to be a music critic.
Years ago, touring the Baltimore Inner Harbor, I toured an old CG cutter permanently berthed there as a museum. Well, the Coasties working there treated me with high and respect . It felt really good. Then it was time for lunch and so I went to the Hooters that was located right near there. Hey it was real close, so I had no choice. A forced decision. Well, the women treated me with the same high regard โฆand so the lesson is that they are not just offering the chance to oogle breasts โฆ.they are offering the chance, even if short lived, to feel like you are terrific. So maybe they are actually doing TWO things that they are very good at.
