In Topics:   Immigration Stupidity  Trump
I wanted to write about Ireland tonight. However, a Gateway Pundit article, really mostly the comments below it, are trying to convince me that I shouldn't be so hopeful that Trump was bullshitting the other day.
Trump is cowardly or stupid, or both. Is he backing down on any serious illegal alien deportation plan due to the riots? How does he not know that that farming and the hospitality industry employ a significant proportion, many millions, of illegal aliens? They cannot NOT be part of any consistent deportation program. If this is what he really thinks, Peak Stupidity and MAGA are done with him:

It's not just an impulsive tweet. Trump Directs ICE to Stop Raids in Agriculture, Hotel and Restaurant Industries — Focus Only on ‘Criminal’ Aliens
I'm encouraged, at least by the multiple hundreds of comments I've read, and that there are over 2,000 of them, under the article. This GP crowd is not the hard-core ZH or iSteve set. They are normies, let's call 'em. Yet 90% of the are PISSED.
Here at Peak Stupidity, we've been very hopeful about this existential issue, the ONLY reason besides just 2 Commie hags and a senile dirtbag to vote against, that we've cared so much about Trump becoming President. If he's really decided to drop the whole thing, than, yeah, he can drop dead. MAGA needs a replacement. It's time for our HR department to get busy.
I wish I was in a better mood for this last post of the week. At least I can read and commiserated with GP commenters and a few real-life friends.
That's it. Good night, Peakers. Have a relaxing Sunday.
PS: I wish Ann Coulter was visiting the White House at this moment.... armed. I just checked and she wrote her most recent column before this idiocy out of Trump.
PPS: I finally looked up what TACO stands wrt Donald Trump: Trump Always Chickens Out. That sounds about right at this point.

PS: "Well, I’ll bet the same principle applies to the cost of a hotel room. And a restaurant meal."
You know, I thought a while later that I should have added something about that, SafeNow. I've asked hotel housekeepers before in different places, some ** some **** how much they make and how many rooms they clean a day. I've also had a chance to talk with a guy whose family runs a low-budget hotel (yes, they are Indians), and he told me all about how that works. (Cash is King! What about taxes? They get through that...)
It's not that much per room, maybe $10 - $15 when you include all overhead I can thing of. Yet, cheap hotel rooms, before the tax are $80 if you're lucky. If they paid 50% more, it's not gonna put them out of business. In the scheme of things, with inflation at pretty high levels, people would likely not even notice.

PS: Mr. Anon, this caving on deportations - I still don't want to believe it - would be the last straw for me. This is where I get off the Trump train.
I hope MAGA does that same. I haven't read enough to know about that yet. Again, I wish VDare was in business to keep me up with it all in one "place".

PSThe leadership of the West is just messing with people's heads. Previously it was all about DEI and immigration and what not, now its all about no more DEI and more deportations and whatnot. But the sheeple need entertainment and distraction, and all of this works well for entertainment and distraction. Keep the masses entertained in the circuses what! And of course everything is even more entertaining because the judges keep on preventing Trump from doing some things. Better than a soap opera. Reminds me of those underwhelming walls Trump built on the Mexican border during his first term after talking non stop about building walls. Its like my work experience at various companies, every CEO comes in with big new ideas, slogans, 3 letter acronyms and what not, then after a while its back to business as usual.
If immigrants are needed for low pay menial work, bring them in on 6 month to 1 year contracts. Afterwards send them back to where they come from. No wives and kids allowed, bring in some ladies of the night to service their needs, the land owners can of course avail themselves of these services as well. These ladies will be on set contracts, so have to go back home after their contracts have expired. This so-called birth right citizenship business is nonsense, in the Dominican Republic they deport everyone who can't prove that they or their ancestors weren't born in the Dominican Republic before 1929. They just go to construction sites, round up suspicious characters, and then dump them in Haiti. In some areas Turd world countries have more brains than First world countries.

I once read that if you paid the wage that would be necessary for a traditional American to pick lettuce, it would only add a nickel or something like that to the cost of a head of lettuce, because there are so many other things that go into the cost of growing and distributing lettuce. Well, I’ll bet the same principle applies to the cost of a hotel room. And a restaurant meal.

Thanks, Mr. Anon, for reviving the proper terminology, that is, “sneak” attack. Political correctness has watered this down in recent years to “surprise” attack.
However, this is stupid, as all attacks are a surprise in that the attacker does not announce when and where it will happen. The Japanese attack was sneaky because right up until the time it was made the Japanese ambassadors were in Washington purporting to be negotiating a peace deal.

Not content to betray his base on Immigration, the Donald is also betraying them on War.
He led the Iranians on in peace talks knowing full well that the Israelis were planning a sneak attack on them. Yes - a sneak attack - that's what it was. That's what we called it when Japan did it to us. That is what we should have called it when Israel did it to us with the USS Liberty too.
Our government, and the bought-and-paid-for stooges at FOX (which laugably calls itself "News" despite being nothing but propaganda) are now fully on the side of sneak-attackers and assassins.
Trump is a deceitful, venal moron, who, along with his corrupt children, are cashing in on his office with a variety of tawdry grift-like "business" enterprises.
Trump never disappoints, does he. He manages to turn everything to s**t in record time.
I'm planning on writing my Republican Congressman and telling him that, if he supports our involvement in this insane war, I'll vote for anybody - up to and including a blue-haired lesbian pinko - to replace him.

I'm of the belief that Americans CAN and WILL do the work, but this depends on their being no cheap labor competition AND the end of the Welfare State. The latter may happen on its own when things get tough financially, de facto, at least.
The Germans brought in cheap Turkish later long ago (1950s?), and look how that turned out. I know, one can have a plan as with The Dominican Republic, but then there will be "compassionate" people who make sure the plan to send people back as required is never implemented.
