In Topics:   Trump  US Feral Government

I like the title of this ZeroHedge article. "Rage-quits", haha! I do wish, however, that this guy was really quitting, as in today. No, Thom Tillis will complete his Senate term, which extends through January of '27 and not run again.*
Trump is not so happy with anyone in the GOP, even MAGA types, who don't agree with his Big Bulbous Bill. That includes some who are very principled and are otherwise on his side, like Tom Massie and MTG. There should be a time and place for changes in this bill, though we can't imagine that anyone could turn it into something actually fiscally responsible. Trump is Trump though. He has threatened to help primary out this North Carolina Senator next time.

I'm pretty much with Andy Jackson on this stuff. North Carolinians are the concern of North Carolina and the NC Governor.
Senator Tillis said:
"In Washington over the last few years, it’s become increasingly evident that leaders who are willing to embrace bipartisanship, compromise, and demonstrate independent thinking are becoming an endangered species," Tillis said in a statement, adding "It underscores the greatest form of hypocrisy in American politics. When people see independent thinking on the other side, they cheer. But when those very same people see independent thinking coming from their side, they scorn, ostracize, and even censure."Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
"As many of my colleagues have noticed over the last year, and at times even joked about, I haven’t exactly been excited about running for another term. That is true since the choice is between spending another six years navigating the political theatre and partisan gridlock in Washington or spending that time with the love of my life Susan, our two children, three beautiful grandchildren, and the rest of our extended family back home. It’s not a hard choice, and I will not be seeking re-election."Yeah, he's gonna walk before they make him run.
One of the traits Peak Stupidity doesn't like about Trump is his hissy fits. Is he actually the First Woman President? OK, maybe it's the Reality Show President. However, we've long said that the tactic of threatening to (and following through with(!), a real problem for Trump) campaigning against those who block his policies should be part of a big strategy. Rather than part of such a strategy, often this action is part of a hissy fit. With Thom Tillis as the target this time, it has been a valid hissy fit.
I know a guy very well who helps with Presidential, State, and local campaigns in North Carolina. He does this independently, and in '20, he worked against Thom Tillis in the Senate primary. Thom Tillis, he told me, is a traitor on immigration. This is issue 1 for both of us, so that's enough. If he says Thom Tillis sucks, then Thom Tillis sucks.
Then, as I read through ZH commenters under this article, I came across, as is likely, someone who has local knowledge and is not just ranting.** Commenter Tyberius wrote:
North Carolinian here.Peak Stupidity concurs. By a stroke of luck, President Trump did the right thing this time.
Tillis is a rotten, uniparty, two faced, cowardly, duplicitous, self serving, kleptocrat.
We collectively say, good riddance!
* Is it possible that Trump & Co. are really playing some 5-D chess, such that they would rather have him stay until that date than risk a bad appointment or special election? It's not really up to them when the guy leaves, unless they know just how much to tweet the rage in this guy. Turn it up!
** Not just ranting, that is. It's ranting, but ranting based on local knowledge.

PS: North Carolina could use that Coca~Cola Cowboy. They don't need that Pepsi~Cola Prostitute.
Still working on that, but Pepsi~ Cola originated in New Bern, NC, and Mel Tillis' Coca~Cola Cowboy was the one hit I remember from him.
Stay warm, Alarmist!

PS
The people of North Carolina would have been better served by the dead corpse of Mel Tillis.
Happy Wednesday from a sunny and warm Europe. I tell my friends and neighbors that back home we call this Spring.

PS: Greetings, Mr. Moderator!
Yes. I am and were (also) doing well.
Still am, (Ackchyually)!
(Happy smiley face ascii emoji) 🙂

I know a few things about window units.
Like bullet piercing valves...

Been busy. Been well. But also off our groove, a bit. (Not in a bad way.) Because a baby kitten came into our yard (and our lives) about a week ago. (Dehydrated, malnourished, mildly flea infested and with what looked like conjunctivitis in her eyes. But, thankfully, wasn't.)
Good thing. But it is (kinda) like having a toddler (baby kitten) around. (Because outside cat.)
(689 grams.)(So small, yet so cute.)
I wrote a quick story about it. But I still need to edit it.
(or not. but whatever.)
Long story short... I always imagined if Baby Girl brought home a kitten it would be a tuxedo cat or a black cat. This one is orange.
Cheers to a happy Wednesday. (Wednesday, already?)
I hope you too are enjoying a wonderful evening!
Getting tired so I'm calling the six o'clock rule. (At 1am.)
Cheers! ☮️

PS: Well, not everyday, I guess. I hope you're, no, you WERE doing well, on June 27th, Adam.
Man, I've been busy on TUR writing about the Climate Calamity!
We're working off of one window unit for A/C this summer, but it's not too bad. You get used to 80-82 inside. It's our own local Climate Calamity.

John Barrasso US senator from Wyoming. recently voted the most popular senator. he recently ran again. I am glad he did so it followed his wife’s sad death. Former doc; a good man, rational, nerdy. This is what you get when engineers etc run for high office. When Mitch went into a brain freeze, Barrasso right away whispered calming things into his ear, and then led him off the stage.
You can Google Barrasso Mitch and photos will come up of this poignant and telling moment.
