Firstly, we found out today that Jeffrey Epstein, worldly pre-www influencer and party animal, did kill himself after all, in that prison cell. Nope, cameras unfortunately failed to catch this particular incident or the video is being withheld to prevent copycat suiciders. Also, per Blondie, our busty Attorney General, a lot of porn was being performed(?) on that island by the late Mr. Epstein, but all those famous and important people who flew to the island on Mr. Epstein's B-727 were just there to go to the beach. The beach is hundreds of yards away from that porn hub (ha!), and they were just there to get some sun and drink wine coolers. It's Five O'Clock somewhere.
Next, per GateWay pundit here, we learn that President Trump has AGAIN brought up, not just a waiver of deportation, but a damn AMNESTY for those illegal aliens in ag and hospitality. We are pissed, Steve Bannon is pissed, as our other immigration patriots, and I think MAGA will have had about enough of this guy if he is not just again bullshitting about this*. Some say Trump says these things to see which way the wind's blowing. Where will the biggest head winds come from, his big donors or MAGA? Honestly, I don't see why the big donors matter to him, with his being 78 y/o in his last term and after having been through what he has. I can tell you that, if Trump keeps this "amnesty" talk up, he'll run into Cat 5 Hurricane force winds out of MAGA country. We put him into this office, and we can take him out of it. (Yeah, old Bill Cosby joke there, but it's not funny this time!)
Lastly, ZeroHedge has reported that Iconic Port Au Prince Hotel That Hosted Kennedys, Mick Jagger, Burns Down During Gang War. Maybe that's where they killed the Kennedies, after all... no wait, but anyway, why do we care? For the comment section, that's why. Here's my favorite comment so far, and I will use this in the future. (I like the handle too!:

Now, Peak Stupidity goes behind the music. Here is the News, from 1981, by the British band ELO (the Electric Light Orchestra) is from what I think is one of the top 5 rock concept albums of all time. This song is part of the big story. We featured the full album long ago. Amazingly, it's still there.
Till now, I'd forgotten that It's Five O'Clock Somewhere, from '03 was an Alan Jackson song rather than one by Jimmy Buffett. He sings on it too, though. It is pretty country, as is Alan Jackson, but Jimmy Buffett leaned that way too. Neither of them wrote that song - that was Jim "Moose" Brown and one of multiple Don Rollins who are songwriters.
The last song, Deep Purple's Smoke on the Water, from 1972 explains itself, but this clip has a 50 second talk by an old Ian Gillan, the singer, explaining the song. I started at the start of the young musician's explanation, and the song follows. That's another English band. There was some kind of invasion.. but the fire had nothing to do with that... just some stupid with a flare gun... Hey, I resemble that lyric.
Oh, since this is (like old VH1's) Behind the Music, sure, some of these people had setbacks in their lives, may have taken some drugs, may have gotten arrested, got back on their feet, died or will die tragically after they "got their lives back together' or whatever. I don't know!
PS: I meant to put 1 of these stories here, then 2, with my actual core competency stupidity post after that. After the 3rd story, well, we'll get to the post intended in the morning.
* A couple of days later, he sure sounded serious, so Peak Stupidity said Drop Dead. I lost track of a video from just after that in which I was aware for the first time of seeing Trump purely dissembling like a standard lying politician.

PS: About Epstein though, Mr. Hail, I've had 2 people (one being my wife) speculate to me that Trump made deals based on that client list. You'd think he could get about everything he wants based on that kind of threat, but then too, he's probably on it. Maybe it was just "we'll all keep quiet".
If this was the case, Trump really hung Blondie, Patel, and the other guy out to dry. Blondie's correction about files vs an actual client list didn't fly very well, because... the internet.
Then (before Blondie's response) Trump got fake-testy with the one reporter who asked about the Epstein deal, acting like we have MORE IMPORTANT things to talk about and that the guy was just tactless, uncaring, and rude. That didn't fly with me either. That same kind of talk that works pretty well against the usual Lyin' Press questioning fell flat to me. I imagine it did for plenty of MAGA people who want to see the Deep State exposed.
However, as I wrote above, I'll forgive this stuff, if Job One continues to be implemented and gets bigger even, what with that $127,000,000,000.

PS: Mr. Hail, I don't think even Trump's blowing off of the Epstein investigations will be enough. Sure, MAGA would like him to hit the Deep State hard. However, Job One is the immigration invasion, and after the border has been close to secured (a lot closer than since half a century probably), deportations are THE ISSUE.
As I wrote here in the 2nd "news" item, Trump's wishy-washiness on the ag/hospitality illegals is something that could cause MAGA to jump off that Trump Train. He actually mentioned "amnesty", which is much worse than just "we're gonna concentrate deportations elsewhere, and blah, blah, the weave and all..." If he mentions that word too many times, to where people think (or GET) that he is serious, that may be it for MAGA support.

The specter of Epstein haunts Trump-land.
A question I've been asking, off and on, for seven years now --- ever since I first lost confidence that Trump would be a net-positive --- is:
What, hypothetically, would it take to get people off the Trump Train?
I think this man, and many other questionable characters that have attached himself to the man, sense that they have a huge share of White-Americans with them "no matter what." So they get lazy.
(Trump was always lazy; ironic given he high-energy presentation. I suppose I mean mentally lazy; not principled; doesn't know or care about important things; is addicted to silyl drama and views the world as a series of overlapping, larger-scale pro-wrestling storylines.)
They also feel free to make direct appeals to Blacks, Hispanics, immigrants, LGBTQs, anyone, and brag about getting higher portions of their vote (but losing among core-American white-males and white-families).
A lot of the other ways they are indulging in narcissism or stupidity, it's still not been enough to derail the momentum of the Trump Train among his core-base, even if a lot of people are clearly waverers (I include what I sense of, and have read from, the Peak Stupidity editorial staff).
The perception of a crude cover-up about the Epstein Files, is it enough to get people to lose confidence in Trump? Pulling a McCain and bombing Iran so far hasn't been enough; not has the disgraceful Gaza Trump Resort plan, including the Trump-brand deportation trucks and Trump-brand jumpsuits for the deported persons to be permanently expelled from Gaza (and the West Bank; coming later). These are direct betrayals of non-intervention and the No Forever Wars policies, but as before not enough people cared and the perception is still of a political Trump Invincibility.
What about this Epstein re-cover up?
Or, let's say for sake of argument that Epstein did kill himself and there is no client list, etc., and all the unreleased files are just innocent receipts for food deliveries. The always-loyal Trump Base centered a lot of their energies on the Epstein Conspiracy, and if these people pull the rug out from under the whole thing it may get some people feeling like the whole Trump MAGA movement was based on a lie.
Trump is a demagogue. Any demagogic movement like his has serious internal problems that eventually come to light; is this "Epstein's over; nothing to see here, you bozos" moment a major crack in the armor?
