I've written before that we won't be able to do this for every great rock and pop star that passes. There were just too many from that time, basically 1 lifetime minus 20-25 years (old) ago. Ozzie Osbourne singer for Black Sabbath and later on his own* died today at 76 y/o.
I didn't listen to Black Sabbath in their prime. However, I've always liked this one, Crazy Train by the "solo" Ozzie Osbourne.
Later on he had a TV show or something, but that doesn't matter. It's that great sound, especially out of lead guitarist Randy Rhoads**, that I will remember.
PS: I kept misspelling it as Ozbourne. No, that would be the guys from AC/DC, The Gibb brothers, Three Dog Night, Olivia Newton John, and this (at the time) young lady and her band The Seekers. I'm sure I'm missing a few musical Oz-bornes.
* Yeah, the band fired HIM for his alcohol problems. What?? What self-respecting band DOES that?
** Ohhhh, THIS is the guy my friend was telling me about. On the road through Leesburg, Florida (about halfway between Ocala and Orlando) the tour bus stopped to fix the A/C at a private airport. It wasn't Randy, but the tour bus driver Andrew Aycock, a private pilot, who stole a Beech V-tail Bonanza there to take 2 flights with members of the group to tool around and buzz the tour bus. On the 2nd flight, with Randy Rhoads and a make-up lady, one Rachel Youngblood, on board this pilot botched the buzz job by clipping the bus, and the resulting crash was horrific. That was March 19th of 1982.
What a country, eh?! It was also the olde America in which Ozzie here was arrested and banned from San Antonio for a decade after pissing on the memorial of Texans killed at The Alamo. (He was way drunk, as was his thing.) Modern America would virally view a supportive tweet about it.

“this young lady”
I know this is not that kind of blog, but…check this out. Hamstrings! knees! tibialis anterior! But wait, it’s actually very sweet and old-fashioned…Judith is hanging on to her skirt for dear life. Serious modesty starts at 1:24.

PS: Haha, Alarmist, I've run into something similar with what they call "visual voice mail". (It's the software transcription, of course) I know someone for whom English is also not a first language... like Ozzy(?)... and most times the software plain gives up. Not a word gets transcribed.

PS: Good morning, Adam.
You'd better believe Kieth Richards is smiling. They told him he'd be the first to go, what with all that hard drinking and drug taking. (The Stones had to arrange their concert tours around Kieth Richards' rehab clinic schedule... I kid... a little...) So, I guess drugs aren't THAT bad, mmmkayyy...

The Osbournes themselves use a swing-band cover of Crazy Train done by Lewis Lamedica (I thought it sounded more like Sinatra than Pat Boone) for their show.
My introduction to the show came one Saturday morning when I awoke to my European wife laughing hysterically in the living room, almost as if she was tripping on acid. She wasn’t: Ozzy had purchased a car with a system that responded to voice commands, but when he would say “Radio off!” with his incomprehensible English diction, it would do anything but turn the radio off. Repeatedly. So much so that it actually was funny.
Good that he got the Goodbye concert in before leaving the stage of life.

I’ve seen interviews on UK telly where the poor, short-skirted lassies had to keep their legs crossed for minutes on end lest they do a Sharon Stone. Painful to watch. At least that one had enough skirt to keep modest.
