Doo, doobie, down doobie doo down down
come-a-crashah down doobie doo down down.

... Now, I know, I know that it's true...

I was actually looking for Oriental women driver videos for this post, you know, purely to randomize any kind of offensiveness that might have occurred. [NOTE: Peak Stupidity is an Equal Opportunity Offender™ - PS Legal Team] This guy backed up his bus on the highway somewhere in China... for a while anyway. This was so long ago - I hope everyone has recovered... and that no broken hearts resulted. (Not to be insensitive either there - the news lady said even that driver came out OK, amazingly!)

It's an old Neil Sedaka song. This is very "oldie" sounding to me, very unlike another of his that is still ALMOST as old at this point - that would be his 1975 hit Bad Blood with Elton John singing great backing vocals.

Backing Breaking Up is Hard to Do, co-written by Neil Sedaka with one Howard Greenfield, goes back to 1960. Ahhha, they released it in 1962, but then released another arrangement of it in '75. That's why I can remember it. It was the slow version though, good in its own way. Here's Neil Sedaka on a TV show in 1966. Now, Amazingly!!, we can use our cordless telephones to watch color, that's write, COLOR, videos of Chinese bus drivers backing up down the highway, but 59 years ago, we could barely afford to buy about the same size, maybe a 9" diagonal B&W TV to watch this music.

OK, Peakers, that wraps up this week of stupidity. We'll get to those 2 posts on the economics of hiring illegals, one more thing to say about that Sweeney chick, and plenty more already planned that will come to me at the time. Thanks for reading and writing in!

PS: Greetings, Achmed!

(Sorry 'bout the slow reply...)

Indeed, 1500 truckers is just a tiny fraction of the workforce. (Google tells me there are 3.5 million truckers in the U.S.) But, if it helps keep people from coming or helps motivate them to leave it is a good thing...

Negative net migration? I hope he's correct.

Check out this massive rig moving a 600,000+ pound transformer. Total weight is approximately 1.5 million pounds, 377 feet long, 26 feet wide (20 feet at tires) and 18'6" tall...

PS: Speaking of trucking, Adam, which I know you know about, how about this?:

‘That’s What I Call Results!’: Trump Admin Saves Jobs, Kicks 1500 Non-English-Speaking Truckers Off the Road

I imagine 1,500 is not much of a dent, but at least this is going in the right direction. Hell, I had a hard time ordering food at Arby's (I know!) recently, with the level of English of this African cashier. Africa African.

PS: Those stators are made up of wound-up wiring, so those things must way nearly as much if they were solid copper or something! That's why they had to distribute that load over so many wheels - there'd be no road left otherwise.

"This is not the kind of tool any company who can afford something like this will ever let new drivers operate. (Well, unless they're stupid or something.)" Or, I mean, unless they're very inclusive, you know, and a good equal opportunity employer... It might not necessarily turn into equal outcome employment though ... ask the insurance company. ;-}

PS: Good evening, Achmed!

I'd imagine that you could learn these skills if you really wanted to. But yeah... Pretty impressive. That 23 Axle 235 ft Long Peterbilt/Kenworth rig looks like an amazing piece of machinery. This is not the kind of tool any company who can afford something like this will ever let new drivers operate. (Well, unless they're stupid or something.) I'm sure the guys driving this thing have a whole lot of experience. (You can tell by how careful and methodical their movements are.)

PS: Thanks for the videos, Adam. They were both impressive. I don't have the patience for that, but by "patience", I mean skill!

PS: Yeah, that was early '60s, such a different time from just 3-4 years later, SafeNow, in music and much else about America.

About the IQ, I'm sure they not everything's on the up-and-up regarding IQ testing in China. They have to heavily guard the college entrance exams that prospective students have to take to get in - it's a general test for any college. Otherwise, there will be massive cheating.

That said, the Chinese people who came to America, at least earlier on - through 2000 I'd say, were your brightest ones. We don't have a very random sample. Now THAT said, I do think they're generally a smart bunch and also hard-working. (The latter is changing though.)

On the road in China, I'd seen some wild, wacky stuff go on, so this is probably not anything really strange, besides the big wreck. Note also the cameras in the bus even in '11. They have them here due to black crime, but what was all that about, before Skynet became aware?

PS
That average IQ is likely quite wrong.

- who gets tested?
- does the Chinese government lie about it?
- does the national government actually know the accurate number, or did they push the locals to "get those numbers up"?

PS
It’s always noteworthy when a Chinaman, countrywide average IQ 115, qualifies for a Peak Stupidity award. So thank you for “noticing” this outlier. And thanks for the 1960s, of course.
