Long-time Peak Stupidity readers should be well aware that, as much as we rail against TV - it's been 27 years since being hooked up to the Idiot Plate - we have a thing for the early 21st Century show The Office. If you haven't seen a clip here yet from that show, you're just skimming, man.
What can I say but that there are so many funny scenes and lines, with no holding back (until near the end of the show) for Political Correctness. It turns out that the •Indian character, ditzy back-office employee Kelly Kapoor, was in a scene that was a nearly perfect example to illustrate the current brewhaha at Cornell University.
After one quick point first, I'll just let pundit Steve Sailer sum up that story*, as he does such a great job ridiculing the antics of the Legacy Media. Also, he made a great effort, possibly being the key reporter to get at the truth of the 19 year-ago story of the attempted railroading of some White Duke [Redundancy Alert] Lacrosse players, and this is another such attempt.
The persecution of the men involved here, drunken, drugged, in pairs, whatever, is one thing. The real damage from this sort of thing is more destruction of any chances of normal old-fashioned relations between young men and women at college and elsewhere. We should face it, that's about all college is good for anyway, with what SHOULD BE even more great opportunities for the young men. After they all see these 2-year-later accusations of rape that can ruin one's life, won't it make (even) more sense for them to pull up the porn, and wait it out for the AI-driven sex robots? (Open source, of course.)
Anyway, here's Mr. Sailer:
Unlike the Duke lacrosse team rape hoax of 2007 in which no sex happened and the Haven Monahan Rolling Stone rape hoax of 2014 in which Haven Monahan never existed, at least actual sex happened this time, although it sounds like most of the participants appear disappointed it didn’t live up to their favorite porn. Her name is Lucy Craig. I think women who ruin men's lives on a whim should be called out, by name.
And then there’s the fact that the accused frat boys are fairly diverse, although, as usual, nobody is too sure how to categorize the guy with a Portuguese name.
Apparently, Jane Doe at Cornell was not angry at the four men she had sex with after consenting. Instead, she got angry afterwards at all the women calling her a slut for consenting. Most normal women, not unreasonably, don’t like sluts like Jane Doe for lowering the price of sex. But feminist ideology is incapable of dealing intelligently with most examples of these kinds of women vs. women animus.
Well, there is one more part of the story (maybe Mr. Sailer got to it after the paywall*) that made it clear to us that the Female Stupidity topic key is not only warranted here but perhaps too generous a term. In an Unz Review - published article** by one Richard Parker, I learned that:
The inflection point, the tipping point that convinced Doe to claim this was sexual assault was the fraternity’s decision to disinvite her from the Halloween party. Before being disinvited, she “eager to attend. She received a call from the fraternity president saying this was for her own good. She responded in anger via a text to Ingalls:That's PS's bolding. Interesting that's it's the Halloween party in particular that set Miss Craig off, not a Rush party or the Homecoming game parties. Peak Stupidity noted that Halloween has, for this century at least, been something of a holiday for sluts.I knew this was going to happen. . .. The woman will always get the short end of the stick. Yall aren’t my friends. Yall are covering your asses.By November 3, 2024, Doe had convinced herself it was not consensual. Her text to Newell reads as follows:
It's important to the story here that Miss Craig only decided to make an issue out the incident 2 years back because of her being uninvited, which ironically was done by the frat boys to try to avoid any more such drunken, drugged-up stupor sex incidents, out of Lucy, at least. If they'd invited her, and it happened again, what then? Wait another 2 years, I guess, when she should be a graduate... with, what, a job of some sort?
I've been very Conservative with women in my life - not all intentionally - so I've not seen this form of femaile stupidity personally. However, on The Office - in the 5th Season, Episode 7, Customer Survey - we see this exact behavior enacted. You know, it's somehow funny, while, not really being funny.
The ditz Kelly had been calling customers to get their opinions of salesmen Jim Halpert and Dwight Schrute. The survey results were very unfavorable this year, and this didn't seem correct to the two, so they got to the bottom of it, here:
They hit the nail on the head at 02:55. The ending of this scene, after my cut-off, is about as satisfactory as what we expect with more obvious, blatant, publicly-known, and, yeah, actually existing liar Lucy Craig.
Somewhat more coincidentally, but maybe not, due to University demographics these days, is that a small X clip on Instapundit with interviews of multiple woke students, featured not one, but two •Indian women complainers, the second who resembles Kelly Kapoor. No, the whole thing is real in this one, and it wasn't as funny. That's the image I have above, taken from the tweet. Believe me, you don't have the stomach for those 2 minutes, even if I had the wwwity to figure out how to get a standalone X-video (NOT x-rated, but X) onto the site.
There's one more The Office episode that relates, too funny to leave out. Preppy - not Prepper but that old term "preppy" - character Andy Bernard had gone to Cornell, and Dwight Schrute spends some time trying to send him back to Anger Management classes.
Here's perhaps THE funniest scene from the episode with the first pertinent scene, which we'll put here for the same reason, to try to help forget the Feminist madness for a while:
PS: [Full Disclosure for the record:] TV and The Office: It was last century when I went off TV. However, in Canton, China, circa '08, a girl sold us about and inch and a half thick stack of DVDs (no cases) for $10, and in there were 4 seasons of The Office. I enjoyed them back at home. The first disk was of the British (first) version, and the other 3 of the American one. I hadn't heard of either, and to the Chinese lady who's ripped and burned them on the sidewalk in Canton, well, "they all look the same"... and sound the same too, for that matter.
* Warning: There is a paywall, so you can't read his whole post without subscribing.
** What I do love about that site is that comments can turn into any discussion. In this case we got to discussing The Grateful Dead. I hope you are doing alright, Mr. G. Anderson.

PS: Good evening, Adam. The .jpg was right on the money.
As for iSteve niche topics, we do "touch" on one of them:
https://www.peakstupidity.com/index.php?post=3404
"Hair - a touchy subject these days" Granted, my point there was to expand a bit on the reason Steve Sailer does touch on the subject of black women's hair. There was an earlier post too:

Jet Bridge Carol
Golf course architecture, golf courses, and golf itself, is out of our league. Baseball stats posts should be written by my kid, as he gets into all the sports scores now, even though we don't watch any of it (except for on his birthday at the pizza parlor). OK, pizza joint, does anybody call them pizza parlors anymore, or even pizza joints?

PS: Good afternoon, gentlemen,
It is always good to hear from you, Mr. Ganderson. Sorry to hear about the wheelchair and your non-driving status. (Damn you, you stupid Parkinsonism!) Maybe we can convince Achmed to do a few posts on golf course architecture, baseball stats or 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤! hair?
Anyway... I'm glad to hear you're doing as well as can be expected given your unfortunate circumstances. I'm still praying for your unlikely but miraculous recovery. Many warm wishes and such. 🙂
Hey Achmed. I axed the clanker to draw me a picture of Letitia James. I think it did pretty well...

Letitia James knows a lot about rape.
Just look at what she did to the Brimelows.
Cheers! ☮️

PS: Good morning, Mr. Anderson. I'm very glad to hear from you, and that's not just because there haven't been many comments left here lately!
I don't know if you read what you can of iSteve. When I do, I REALLY want to sign up ($100 annually, IIRC) because he's good with marketing, so he leaves me in suspense. However, as I've written before, I don't need another commenting area to spend a whole bunch of time in. I don't like about 90% of the Unz Review writers, but I'm still glad Ron Unz keeps it going.
No problem about the typos. That's me a on a GOOD day blogging.

PS as for the topic of this post; I think it was Derbyshire appointed out that much of our national discourse seems to boil down to “ X is good, y is bad”, we often it’s very degrees of badness. I think this case there’s plenty of blame to go around the girl certainly is not a saint, nor are the four boys who had sex with her. I went to college in the 70s and certainly we did our share of bad behaving, but I ever thought of doing something like this I could symptomatic of the terrible times we live in.
Oh, and sadly, Mr. moderator, I don’t listen to the Grateful Dead anywhere near as much because I don’t drive anymore, which is where a lot of my listening took place. I still live some occasionally though, and they still make me smile

PS
Still here Mr Moderator! I’m doing fwell, for Parkinson’s disease values of well, which is to say not so hot. Typing is difficult dictation doesn’t seem to work well I’m mostly in a wheelchair these days. I still read PS and mostly nod. my head in agreement, but don’t comment much anymore on any website
I have not convinced the finance committee to sign up for Steve sailor’s Substack. I miss his wry commentary about particularly baseball and Golf Course architecture.
I stopped by Unz this morning, it looked more like der Stürmer that a reputable site.

The girls were pretty hot, and some were obviously loose, but things were more conservative socially than in this story. This story is just one happening at Cornell one time, though - I don't know what else goes on. All I can say is that in my day the Greeks did a LOT of drinking, on the campus. My friend was in one only in his Freshman year, quitting because he wanted to concentrate on the schoolwork (Chem E., maybe THE hardest major). After that one year at the frat, he did know how to mix many different drinks with names I'd never heard of, that's for sure!
