I guess all the commercials and the posters at the gyms and the bank* worked. I am impressed with those marketing people after all. Everyone wanted to lift up the black folk to the level of the White people, be it school test scores, nice neighborhoods, shutting up once in a while, and even the enjoyment of the outdoors.
A Yahoo headline last week told us A teen used AI to plan a hiking route. It trapped him on a cliff. That's too bad the way it almost went down. (He got rescued.)
However, I'm still very impressed with the teem for not just getting out into the great outdoors and enjoying hiking, but even planning out his hike in the steep British Columbia coastal range, north of Vancouver, himself. Planning it out with AI even was enterprising... stupid, but enterprising nonetheless. Kudos, major kudos, to him for putting down the skunk weed... at least until atop the peak.
That's nice and makes me feel warm all over. We may just yet all get along after all and close "the gap". No, I don't mean The Gap chain of clothing stores, as much as they need to be closed, but the big chasm that's lain between the black & White people, like that AI proposed route down Crown Mountain.
Wait, what? It said "teen"... right there in the yahoo headline. Ohhhh, you mean he is a teenager? Like between 13 and 19 years old, inclusive? A Canadian... like in the old Bob & Doug MacKenzie movies, you say? Ahhhhh, well that ... changes ... everything ...
This is not Euphemism Creep but something different. Let's call it Euphemism Complacency. I'm so used to "teen" already. What WILL they use next, so I won't misunderstand yahoo articles like this going forward?
This post was supposed to be about Artificial Stupidity, but... this IS the post.
* I'll get to that one in another post.
